Veterans’ history will no longer be a distant memory to the Arnold Community. Not Too Far Distant performs on Monday, November 10th, at 6 pm at Arnold Public Schools. The story of Staff Sergeant Clarence Williams’ World War II letters home will show the challenges of war for all to experience.
The production is being presented by the William A Layton American Legion Post 130 and Auxiliary, Dean K. Leach Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6157, Arnold Area Historical Society, Arnold Public Schools, and Arnold Community Foundation.
The play is produced by the Blixt Arts Lab, a Lincoln-based arts nonprofit committed to “arts innovation beyond
expectation!” They co-create meaningful arts experiences through bold theater, education, and community initiatives.
In addition to a full performance of the play, Blixt staff and local veterans will be hosting an open house featuring historical military memorabilia on display during the two-day event.

The visiting artists will also meet with students throughout the school day to build a better understanding between youth and local veterans, assisting the Arnold One Act production and working in history and English classrooms with students.
Filled with hope and heart, Not Too Far Distant honors the experience of the American soldier and will provide a powerful reminder of the power and responsibility to help create a brighter future. The Veterans Day activities in Arnold on November 10 and 11 are free and open to the public.
