Nominations for Nebraska Cattlemen’s 2023 Young Cattlemen Connection Now Open

LINCOLN – Nominations for the Nebraska Cattlemen Association’s 2023 Young Cattlemen Connection (YCC) class are now open, according to a statement released by the association.

YCC is a longstanding Nebraska Cattlemen tradition, geared toward keeping the future of the cattle industry innovative and knowledgeable. This program helps emerging leaders understand the industry structure, issues management, product research, and marketing, and teaches participants how to become effective communicators.

The two-year program accepts ten individuals per cycle, and is open to most cattlemen, emphasizing that the nominees be current or future leaders with Nebraska Cattlemen or a local affiliate, willing to participate in the full two years of the program, and willing to develop new leadership skills in conjunction with a generally positive attitude, and between the ages of 25 and 50. The only strict requirement is membership in Nebraska Cattlemen.

Alongside a summer and fall meeting each year, the upcoming Class of 2023 will have meetings in Lincoln between January 17 and 19 of 2023, and between January 23 and 26, 2024.

The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, October 25, 2022, and nominees will be required to fill out an application for the selection committee to review. The YCC Class of 2023 will be announced on November 18, 2022.
