New School Year for Area Students

County fairs are behind us, as are most festivals and community celebrations…all signs that summer vacation is drawing to a close. Another sure sign that the relaxed days of summer are nearly over for students and teachers, is the start of a new school year! Of our area schools, S.E.M. classes are already underway as their 2023-24 school year started on August 10th, and Arcadia will have their first day on the 15th. Area public schools that will hold their first day of classes this Wednesday, August 16th, are Anselmo-Merna, Ansley, Litchfield, Loup City, Loup County, Sandhills, Sargent, and Stapleton. The first day of classes for Thedford’s 7-12th grades is also the 16th, but the PK-6th grades will enjoy a few extra days of vacation as they don’t resume classes until August 22nd. Arnold, Broken Bow, and Callaway Public Schools first day of classes is Thursday, August 17th.

KCNI/KBBN wishes all students a great school year and we look forward to covering events for all our area schools.
