Nebraska 4-H Announces Open Applications for Scholarships

CUSTER COUNTY – The Nebraska 4-H Foundation has announced that the application process for student scholarships is now open, according to a statement released by the 4-H Foundation.

Nebraska 4-H awards $22,000 worth of scholarships every year to 4-H participants across the state. The scholarships are available to prospective college students currently enrolled in Nebraska 4-H programs.

There are ten scholarships available, ranging from $500 to $1,000, awarded to between one and four individuals. Several scholarships require that applicants plan to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and others are county-specific.

Recipients are selected based on their leadership abilities, background, interest in and desire for continuing their education, and existing academic accomplishments.

Applicants must be a current high school senior, graduating in the spring of the award year and planning to attend college in the fall, or a currently-enrolled freshman at an accredited university. Generally, applicants must have completed at least one year of 4-H and be a current 4-H member, though that prerequisite may vary by scholarship.

The deadline to apply is January 5, 2023 and all applications are to be submitted digitally. More information, including an application link, can be found here.
