CUSTER COUNTY, Neb.— The Custer County Sheriff’s Office and Broken Bow Police Department are investigating a pair of ATM thefts that happened during the early morning hours of May 27 and are believed to be connected.
Broken Bow Police Chief Chris Anderson says an unknown suspect or suspects stole approximately $15,000 from a Flatwater Bank ATM in Broken Bow. Those suspects also attempted to access a second ATM in Broken Bow but were unsuccessful.
That same morning, the Custer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Flatwater Bank ATM theft in Ansley where approximately $9,500 was taken.

Evidence collected during both investigations leads both offices to believe the incidents are related.
A suspect vehicle, a white Jeep Commander believed between a 2006 to 2010 model, has been identified. The investigation remains active and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
Anyone with information related to the thefts or the suspect vehicle is encouraged to contact the Broken Bow Police or Custer County Sheriff’s Office.
