The 14th Annual Team Jack Radiothon took place last Thursday, and it has been announced that the event raised $219,810.12 for childhood brain cancer research in just one day.
Nearly 400 donors contributed to the radiothon to help Team Jack continue to fund research to find better treatments and a cure for kids with brain cancer. The foundation expressed special thanks to The Home Agency, the Jim and Sharri Baldonado family, and the FNIC Group for being presenting sponsors and hosting the radiothon in Elwood with volunteers throughout the day.
“We are so thankful to everyone who listened, donated, shared the Radiothon with friends and family, wore their Team Jack gear or supported the event in any way,” said Team Jack Foundation Executive Director Kylie Dockter. “The generosity shown throughout the day was incredible, and every dollar raised helps fund research that brings hope to kids and families facing childhood brain cancer.”
The Huskers Radio Network distributed the Radiothon to Husker affiliates across the state. Listeners of KBRX in O’Neill earned the top spot in fundraising again this year, while locally listeners of KCNI and KBBN came in fourth by contributing nearly $2,400.
Since the Radiothon began in 2013, supporters have helped raise $1.79 million.
