MPCC scholarship deadline approaching for Broken Bow students

Broken Bow students enrolled in dual credit courses this fall with Mid-Plains Community College (MPCC) have until August 31 to complete applications for two available scholarships, according to the Custer County Foundation.

Through funds administered by the Custer County Foundation, the Don Davis Early Entry Access Scholarship and the Broken Bow Class of 1959 Educational Scholarship are available through applications online. Those wishing to apply can visit CusterCountyFoundation.org and select scholarships, scholarships available, then select “dual credit HS students”.

Students eligible to receive the ACE scholarship should only apply if the ACE scholarship is not paying for all credit hours. ACE scholarship eligibility is defined as the student or student’s family being approved to participate in a federal need-based government program (listed below), have experienced an extreme hardship that affects family income, or be participating in a designated Career Education program as established by the Nebraska Department of Education.

  • Free or reduced-price lunch program
  • Supplemental security income
  • Temporary assistance to needy families (TANF)
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Special Supplemental Assistance Program (WIC)
