Nebraska’s generosity flowed through the radio waves again during this year’s Team Jack Radiothon, which aired statewide on September 25, including locally on KCNI. The annual broadcast raised $165,850 (and counting) to support pediatric brain cancer research through the Team Jack Foundation.
Listeners throughout the KCNI/KBBN listening area contributed $1,729 to the effort, helping continue the foundation’s mission of funding research and raising awareness for children fighting brain cancer.
Now in its 13th year, the Team Jack Radiothon was created through the Team Jack Foundation, which is based in Atkinson, Nebraska. Jack Hoffman, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011 at age five, captured national attention when he ran for a memorable 69 yard touchdown during the 2013 Nebraska spring football game. The moment became a symbol of courage and hope for families everywhere.
Since then, the foundation has raised millions of dollars for research, with the Radiothon standing as one of its most visible and impactful efforts each year.
