Mobile food pantry to visit Broken Bow on Saturday

The Foodbank for the Heartland Mobile Food Pantry will be back in the area tomorrow (November 9) at the Custer County Fairgrounds from 9 AM to 11:30 AM or until food is gone. The program aims to bring their mobile food pantry to areas that have a high need but limited resources.

There are no income requirements for those wishing to pick up food at the drive-thru event, and a minimal amount of questions will be asked to track the event’s impact.

A community box, fresh in-season produce, and other possibilities will be available as a part of free food bundles that can help feed a family of four for a week. The food is made available by the USDA.

Foodbank for the Heartland’s mobile pantry program hosted 383 mobile pantry events in 40 counties in the latest fiscal year, distributing nearly 2.7 million meals and helping over 63,000 Heartland  households. Community organizations wishing to host a mobile pantry can find contact information at FoodbankHeartland.org.
