BROKEN BOW – The Melham Memorial Medical Center is fully accessible once again with the completion of another phase of the Memorial Drive project.

The intersection at Laurel Drive is now open for traffic; the four-way intersection had been closed for the past several months for Memorial Drive’s renovation, meaning that patients and hospital staff had been utilizing various detours to accommodate the project’s progress.

Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center CEO Jeremy Clingenpeel acknowledges the total community effort involved in executing the project on its proper timetable, reminding everyone that improved accessibility means improved hospital services.

“I think I can speak for the entire community when I say, ‘Thank you,’ to the City of Broken Bow and Myers Construction. Memorial Drive, heading both east and west in front of the hospital, is now open, and the hospital is accepting patients. Please come by and see us.”

The full Memorial Drive project, at this point, is nearing total completion; the city anticipated finishing the renovations entirely around December 1. Drainage has been greatly improved, as has the overall quality of Memorial Drive itself.  Despite supply issues well out of the city’s hands, the project is still wrapping up tidily in time for the holiday season.
