Mayoral Decree Declares City Closures Thursday and Friday

BROKEN BOW – A statement released by Mayor Rod Sonnichsen indicates that all city operations will be suspended Thursday and Friday, December 22 and 23, due to the impending cold weather conditions.

Departments affected include the Street and Parks Department, Water and Sewer, Electric Department, City Hall, and the Broken Bow Public Library.

In the statement, Mayor Sonnichsen cited the need to protect city workers and equipment from the conditions; all city employees will be at home Thursday and Friday. Residents should use the non-emergency telephone number for power outages or water concerns should the need arise.

Mayor Sonnichsen urges residents to stay home during the inclement weather, though if travel is necessary, Mayor Sonnichsen recommends keeping an emergency bag close at hand which could include water, some food, a flashlight and batteries, and warm blankets. The full decree is attached.
