Mason City’s First Baptist Church to hold mobile food pantry

MASON CITY – The First Baptist Church in Mason City, in collaboration with the Omaha-based Food Bank for the Heartland, will be hosting a mobile food pantry on Thursday, March 16 beginning at 3 p.m.

The pantry will take place at the First Baptist Church, located at 687 Prentiss Street in Mason City, and will remain open until supply is exhausted.

It is free and open to anyone; no documentation of any sort is required. The goal of the mobile pantry is to provide food where a need exists, but where resources may be limited.

Additionally, the First Baptist Church’s pantry will be mostly contactless, offering drive-up service. Food will be boxed up and loaded into residents’ vehicles as they arrive.

Food Bank for the Heartland currently serves 77 counties in Nebraska and 16 in Iowa, with 376 mobile pantries having served over 3 million meals across the state in 2022 alone.
