Main threats with Monday storm possibility is large hail, damaging winds

The National Weather Service in North Platte is predicting rapid thunderstorm development Monday afternoon and evening. The greatest concern with the storms is large hail and damaging winds, though a tornado cannot be ruled out.

A majority of the KCNI/KBBN listening area is at a risk level of 3 out of 5. The probability for severe hail is between 5& and 29% for much of the state, while the entire listening area has between a 30% and 44% chance of severe winds. Hail up to tennis ball size and wind gusts up to 75 MPH are possible according to the NWS.
