Loup City man arrested Saturday evening

The Sherman County Sheriff’s Office arrested Billy Corker, age 61 of Loup City on Saturday evening according to Sheriff Joel Bergman. Initial response was to reports of an assault in Loup City.

When responders made contact with Corker, he had received previous injuries from a fall, was under the influence, and was uncooperative. He was placed under arrest and the Loup City-Ashton-Rockville Cooperative Ambulance Squad was contacted for Corker’s injuries and for transport.

An active arrest warrant for a parole violation in California was found for Corker. While being medically cleared, Corker proceeded to assault the arresting deputy resulting in further charges.

Corker was lodged in the Custer County Jail, where records show charges of disorderly conduct, third degree assault, and aggravated assault of a police officer-strongarm.
