BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow EMS team held its first annual “Run for Your Life” 5k race and walk Saturday May 13th. The weather was dark and soggy but spirits were high as 82 participants left the starting line at Melham Park at 10:00am sharp.
Runners and walkers made their way to the finish line at Kinkaiders for a good meal and a place for participants and general public to thank the EMS and Fire Department personal for their service. Awards were presented to the top finishers of the 5K and several people won door and raffle prizes. The money raised from the event will go towards EMS equipment.
Kelvin Kreitman who helped organize the event told KCNI/KBBN News That the event was considered a success with more runners and walkers than expected and the attendance at Kinkaiders was excellent. Kreitman said they learned a lot about running the event this year and he expects it will be held again next year.
