Lodi Seed Services welcomed to the Callaway community

This community always steps up and supports and I think that's awesome about Callaway

CALLAWAY- “Building Trust through Service”. That’s the goal for two friends turned business partners, Abe Hinman and TR Anderson, of Lodi Seed Services, LLC.

The pair sliced through a blue ribbon with the Callaway Chamber of Commerce on Monday afternoon in front of a crowd at their recently-acquired location at 109 South Grand Avenue.

Hinman expressed his gratitude for the group that came and for the community in general.

“The outgoing support says a lot about our community. Regardless of who it is, this community always steps up and supports and I think that’s awesome about Callaway.”

Anderson told KCNI/KBBN news that after considering other options, a home in Callaway presented itself as the right choice.

“We knew we were going to need a warehouse, so we entertained a lot of different options and thought about a piece of land and building. But we said ‘Hey, what about this building?’. It’s in Callaway, we could clean it up, help clean up the community, make it look nice and it was kind of a win-win.”

Joe Hofer, seed sales rep with Channel, echoed the excitement of Hinman and Anderson.

“These guys have been enthusiastic and they really want to bring value to our farmers and ranchers in the area. Whenever you start a business, you bring goods and services, you bring commerce into the community; and so from that standpoint we think it will be a good mutual value for all of us. That’s what we’re going to work for.”

The Lodi Seed Facebook page explains the roots of the pair, all the way down to their logo. The nostalgic typeface as an homage to those who have shaped them past, present, and ahead. A subtle cross signifies that their journey isn’t solitary but a part of something greater. Finally, at the heart is a single corn kernel, a tribute to the industry’s evolution while representing growth, resilience, and the power of progress.

Anderson stated customers could come their direction for a variety of needs.

“We’ll be selling, obviously, seed corn and soybeans and sudangrass, sorghum, and silage corn. Any of that stuff we’ll have seed for and hopefully through hard work and lots of service we can make it work with the guys in the area help them increase the profitability of their farm.”
