The NSAA Speech Championships are Friday and Saturday in Kearney, and several student competitors from the KCNI/KBBN listening area seized the right to attend by placing third at their respective district competitions last week.
Last year at state, Lincoln East repeated and took the top spot in team competition in class A followed by Lincoln Southwest. In class B, York was champion ahead of Scotus Central Catholic. Last year’s class C-1 competition ended in a tie between David City and Grand Island Central Catholic. The team crown in 2025 in class C-2 went to Hartington-Newcastle (who repeated from 2024) with Plainview as the runner-up. Wausa was the winner of D-1 last year ahead of Riverside, and in D-2 it was St. Mary’s taking first ahead of Stuart.
Class A, C1, and C2 competition is on Friday, while class B, D1, and D2 competition takes place on Saturday.
