BROKEN BOW, GOTHENBURG – Two area hardware stores are adding up pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters to make a difference in the community.

RT Ace Hardware in Broken Bow and Gothenburg Ace Hardware, owned by Joe and Liz Franssen, both recently started a round up program asking customers if they would like to round their purchase up to the next even dollar to support local causes.

After opening their doors only a few months ago, the Gothenburg Ace Hardware store donated $1,034.82 to the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department from round-ups in June. They followed that up with a $619.22 donation to the Gothenburg Noon Rotary club with funds collected in July.
