LLNRD Photo Contest Entries Will Continue To Be Accepted Through May 15

If a picture is worth 1,000 words, the stories to be told through beautiful images taken within the Lower Loup Natural Resources District are endless.

“The Lower Loup NRD is the largest NRD by size of all of Nebraska’s 23 NRD’s,” said LLNRD Information Specialist Alan Bartels. “At nearly 8,000 square miles in size, and including sandhills, farmland, pastures, canyons, reservoirs, rivers, wildlife, rustic barns, and quaint communities, there is a lot of beauty to be found and photographed within the District.”

Photos entered in the 2022 Lower Loup NRD Photo Contest must have been taken within the boundaries of the Lower Loup NRD.  A map of the area can be found on the NRD’s website, www.LLNRD.org. Submitted images can include nature, wildlife, agriculture, recreation, people, pets, events, and more.

Entrants are reminded that the LLNRD owns and manages several scenic areas already popular with photographers: the Lower Loup NRD Arboretum in Ord, Davis Creek Recreation Area south of North Loup, and Pibel Lake Recreation Area in south-central Wheeler County. Images from these scenic areas are welcome. Entries should include the photographer’s name and contact information, and the location where the photograph was taken.

There is no fee to enter. Photographers are encouraged to enter their very best high-resolution phone and camera images via email to [email protected] by midnight May 15, 2022. Questions may be sent to that same email address. Photographers will retain ownership of their images. By submitting, photographers grant LLNRD limited use of their images in one or all of the following: social media, website content, potential other digital use, and printed materials.

Winners will be announced in June 2022, and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
