LLNRD photo contest deadline approaching

Photos taken within the Lower Loup Natural Resources District are being accepted as a part of the district’s photo contest. The deadline of midnight on May 15 is quickly approaching. Winners will be announced in June.

Created to inspire photographers of all levels, the photo contest is accepting photo subjects such as nature, wildlife, people, agriculture, recreation, conservation activities, local events, and more.

High-resolution image files can be submitted to [email protected], of which the photographers retain ownership. Through entry, LLNRD is granted potential use of images in social media, website content, digital use, and in printed materials. LLNRD directors, employees, and their immediate families are not eligible to win.

The 2024 contest saw hundreds of image entries. Last year’s contest was won by Ravenna resident Cheryl Albright with her image of Annevar Park on a foggy morning.

First, second, and third places will be awarded for the 2025 contest, with a print of the first place image to hang in the LLNRD headquarters in Ord for a year before being presented to the photographer and being replaced by the next contest winner.

Those with questions are encouraged to contact Alan Bartels at 308-728-3221 or [email protected]. For updates, visit the Lower Loup NRD’s Facebook page or visit LLNRD.org.
