LITCHFIELD – Litchfield held its elementary spelling bee on Thursday, April 6. All students in grades 1 through 5 participated in a grade-level competition and students in grades 6 through 8 spelled against each other in a middle school-wide competition.
The first three rounds of all competitions were written tests, with students scoring the highest moving on to compete in oral contests.
The winners by grade are as follows: in first grade, first place went to Kesslyn Kusek, second place to Emmet Pierce, third to Emerson Moser, and honorable mention to Hudson Varah.

Second grade’s winner was Kenna Feldman, with Tayah Mack-Sekutera as runner-up, and Kaycee Kramer taking third.
In third grade, Ryker Golter claimed first place, Evelyn Varah took second, and Riddick Boyles earned third.

The fourth-grade winner was Koy Kusek and the second-place finisher was Aiden Kearney, with Hailey Fecht in third.

Aubri Corbin won first place in the fifth-grade contest, followed by Troy Mack-Sekutera in second, and Jaxon Schulte in third.
The middle school contest’s first prize went to 8th grader Aliza Ellison, its second prize to 6th grader Jenna Holm, and its third prize to 8th grader Alex Lucas.
