Litchfield cuts ribbon on new Veteran’s Wall

LITCHFIELD – On Friday, July 7, the Litchfield community club had a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new veteran’s wall. The ceremony was in the midst of Litchfield’s Old Settlers Picnic.

The wall was supposed to be completed in time for Old Settlers but was delayed due to rain. Litchfield community club member Matt Drew led the event. Drew mentioned things they had left to do which included continuing to add names to the walls, adding plants and landscaping around the wall, and adding bronze plaques.

The wall is located on the south side of Town & Country Bank. Drew thanked the bank for its donation of the ground and thanked those that supported and bought names for the wall.

He encourages people to continue to fill out the wall by purchasing names for themselves or on behalf of someone who has served so they may get the proper recognition they deserve. Andrew Reynolds and Mike Beck cut the ribbon.
