Litchfield artists among Third District competition winners

Litchfield student artists are among the winners of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for the Third District of Nebraska, announced recently by the office of Congressman Adrian Smith.

“I want to thank the students who participated in this year’s Congressional Art Competition and offer my congratulations to the winners,” said Smith. “Alongside winning entries form across the United States and in my offices, your work will be a reminder of the rich talent we have in the Third District. Thank you to Nebraska’s art educators who encourage students every day to develop their skills.”

Artwork by the first-place winner will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol. The runners-up will have their art displayed in Rep. Smith’s Washington, D.C., Grand Island, Scottsbluff, and Nebraska City offices. Smith worked with the Nebraska Art Teachers Association to coordinate the competition.

Smith will visit Litchfield on Wednesday at 8:00 am to congratulate the three students on their artwork entered, while also addressing the whole school in an assembly and answering questions from the public, staff, and students.
