According to Loup Basin Public Health Department, on Thursday, December 9 the CDC expanded their recommendations for COVID-19 vaccine booster shots to now include everyone 16 years and older. At this time, only the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is authorized and recommended for adolescents aged 16 and 17.
Those in this age category need to be at least 6 months from their 2nd dose of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to be eligible for a booster. Mix and match boosters are not approved for this age group.
