K9 Grant Up for Grabs for Broken Bow’s Sam
Handsome Sam could win up to $15,000 for his department, with community help.

BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow Police Department’s K9 Unit is asking for community help to earn the 2022 Aftermath K9 Grant.

The grant awards a total of $15,000 to eight agencies to create or maintain a K9 unit, purchase safety equipment, or support officer training. The unique aspect of the grant’s selection process is community involvement; winners are selected by the votes of local communities.

Voting is open through the end of October. Community members can vote once every 24 hours, once each on the three platforms: the Aftermath website, and Facebook and Instagram pages. Winners will be announced on November 3.

To vote on either social media platform, community members can follow the Facebook or Instagram pages, and like and comment on daily posts with the agency name, city, and state.

To vote on the website, voters will simply click on Nebraska within the displayed map of the United States, and scroll down until they find the picture of Broken Bow’s own Sam.
