Hunters For Youth banquet set for April 20 in Broken Bow

The Loup Valley Chapter of Hunters for Youth (HFY) invites the public to attend their annual banquet, Saturday April 20 in Broken Bow at the Municipal Building. The event serves as a fundraiser for the group’s goal to provide youth with the experience of hunting and fishing alongside mentors.

Single meal event tickets are $35 and couples tickets are $55. Kids 10 years of age and under get into the event for free with a paid adult and also receive a kids bucket raffle ticket which allows a chance at items on the kids table.

As soon as doors open, an early bird raffle package priced at $200 will give buyers $400 worth of general raffle bucket tickets, one ticket for the meal ticket gun raffle, and five gun tickets. General/bucket tickets are 1 for $4 or 50 for $150. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase gun raffle tickets for a Ruger 10/22 Carbine LR.

Attendees will also find that sponsorships have been purchased resulting in additional gun raffle tables.

Hunters for Youth continues to search for mentors experienced in hunting, fishing, and being outdoors in general. As a nonprofit organization, families are not charged for their involvement. A gap is being filled by the organization between proper equipment, education, licensing, and and experienced mentor and a youth participant who is interested in hunting or fishing who may not have access to the activities.

Attending the banquet Saturday (April 20) is a great way to support HFY, but those interested are encouraged to volunteer. Establishment of new chapters is always being explored as well. Contacting local Hunters for Youth staff is the best way to get started. The organization website is huntersforyouth.org.
