CUSTER COUNTY, NE – In a press release Tuesday (May 21), the Custer County Attorney’s Office announced that Deputy County Attorney Kayla C. Haberstick has achieved the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional Certification by meeting the experience, education, and demonstrated HR competency and knowledge requirements as established by the Society for Human Resource Management.
The areas of competency and knowledge include leadership, business acumen, interpersonal relationships, ethical practice, diversity and inclusion, communication, and relationship management.
The certification will enhance her ability to effectively handle all matters in the County Attorney’s Office, to provide more competent and comprehensive legal advice and services to elected County officials, and to problem solve issues within the County more effectively.
Originally from Broken Bow, Haberstick returned to Custer County to serve in the County Attorney’s Office after graduating from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2017. Since then, she has completed the Nebraska State Bar Association Leadership Academy, the Children’s Justice Attorney Education Fellowship, and has testified on behalf of Nebraska Child Advocacy Centers before the Nebraska Legislature Appropriations Committee. She currently serves on the Nebraska State Bar Association Juvenile Law Section Legislative Committee, the Nebraska Department of Veterans Affairs Suicide Mortality Review Committee, and the Sandhills Community Collaborative Advisory Board, and is a member of the Nebraska County Attorney’s Association.
Custer County Attorney Steven R. Bowers stated in the release that Haberstick has demonstrated her dedication to serving Custer County and her achievement of the SHRM-CP certification is a further testament of her commitment to her public service.
