Gun Raffle Tickets Continue To Be Sold For Comstock Veterans Wall

COMSTOCK— Tickets are still available for the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 220 in Comstock, gun raffle. Tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20 with the winner receiving an Emperor MX5 Semi-Automatic 12 ga. Shotgun, donated by Alabama Hunters, Comstock, NE.  Proceeds will be used for the Veteran’s Memorial Wall in Comstock. The winner must be able to possess a chosen firearm at the time of the Federal Firearms License (FFL) background check.

Sons of the American Legion, Casey Doggett said tickets will be sold through the Comstock 4th of July Celebration as long as there are tickets remaining.

“As long as we will have tickets available, we will continue to sell them through the day on the 4th at the celebration. In past history we have given [the gun] away at one of the ball games that evening,” said Doggett.

Bricks are also still available to be purchased for the wall for any and all veterans. Bricks are $75 per brick for one person with three lines (16 characters per line) available for use. Doggett stated bricks can be donated to those who have served or are currently serving.

“We’ve had some requests for people who are currently serving,” said Doggett. “I’m doing one for my own son who is still currently serving and I will put a beginning date and then we can add the rest when he decides he is finished or retires.”

Donations are also welcome and would be greatly appreciated by any individual or business to help complete and support the project.
