KCNI/KBBN observed crews trying to stay in front of the flames that continued to move quickly several miles to the north within just a few hours. Tankers, grass rigs, and tractors with disks were seen combing the area applying water and removing fuel from the flames. A crop duster plane was providing support from the sky and crews were seen stationed by residences in close proximity to the fire.

Departments called for mutual aid in addition to Arcadia and Loup City included Ansley, Mason City, Ord, Broken Bow, and Sargent.

As KCNI/KBBN left the area of the fire in the 4:00 PM hour, crews continued to comb already burnt areas for hot spots. The part of the fire that was producing the most new smoke in the sky appeared to be in a central location between the south edge where the fire had sparked and the northern edge where crews were battling the wind and the fire’s progression.
