BROKEN BOW – Breast cancer or cancer in general has affected persons you may know, family members, or maybe even yourself. Gateway Motors Representatives Thomas McCaslin, Todd Anderson, and Chris Armstrong wanted to do something to help as they all know people who have been affected by cancer, so they did just that.

Todd Anderson presented a $5,000 check to Melham Medical Center CEO, Kyle Kellum.

“It was a success for everybody and we are going to present $5,000 to the Jenny M. Melham Memorial Medical Center,” said Anderson.

Melham Medical Center CEO, Kyle Kellum thanked Chris Armstrong, Todd Anderson, and Thomas McCaslin for the donation and spoke about different ideas for what the money will go towards.

“Thanks for everything you guys did to make this happen,” said Kellum. “We talked a little bit about if this was tied more towards either lung cancer or cardiac. We had talked a little bit about cardiac rehab.”

Chief Nursing Officer, Mary Harvey followed behind Kellum and talked about how a treadmill had gone down in cardiac rehab.

“One of our treadmills went down in cardiac rehab. She’s got 11 people there right now, so it would go a long ways for a new treadmill.”

When KCNI/KBBN asked Chris Armstrong why he chose to donate money to Melham Medical Center, Armstrong stated that he has family personally affected by breast cancer and this would help the community.

“I think for the community it’s huge, you know, I’ve always been about community awareness. And my mom, my sister, and my stepmom, all of them have survived it (breast cancer),” said Armstrong.
