Fun, Sun, & Together Again! Pioneer Picnic in Callaway this Weekend

CALLAWAY–All are welcome to join in the fun in Callaway this weekend for the annual Pioneer Picnic. Celebrate Callaway’s heritage with the rodeo of more than 50 years, parade, car show, alumni events, street dances, and games and activities for all ages!

Callaway Chamber of Commerce Secretary Kelsey Wyckoff said, “We’re excited to have everybody come out and get together again. It just brings everybody together and reminds them where they came from,” Wyckoff told KCNI/KBBN.

Friday, June 25

7 Valleys Museum Open starting at 10 a.m., Swimming Pool opens at 1 p.m., Seven Valleys Rodeo at 7:30 p.m., Street Dance at Shotgun Annie’s from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Saturday, June 26

Fun Run, Sidewalk Chalk, Museum, Log Cabin, and Episcopal Church open, Parade at 10:45 a.m. on Kimball Street, Cook Shack open in Morgan park, Wine Tasting at the Callaway Market, Car Show in Morgan Park, Tropical Sno, Tail Twisters Cow Pie Bingo, Kids Carnival & Pioneer Picnic Games, Dunk Tank, Spider Mountain by RockIT Event Pros, Swimming Pool open, BINGO, Cornhole, Dodge Ball, Kids Races, CHS Alumni Reception at 2 p.m., Alumni Banquet & Program, Street Dance at Henry’s 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.

The theme of the Pioneer Picnic Parade is Fun, Sun & Together Again! Registration for the parade will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the South entrance of the Callaway School.

Registration will end at 10:30 a.m. and the parade will start at 10:45 a.m. No need to pre-register, everything will be done the day of. Come join the fun!

Parade Route: Callaway School down Kimball Street, out to the Callaway Good Life Center (please go the full route so the residents of the CGLC can see).

The Callaway Chamber of commerce is also presenting the 2021 Pioneer Picnic Car Show & Shine! All cars, trucks, motorcycles, and pedal cars are welcome: gas power, electric, or people powered. Car Show Registration starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 26.

Door prizes and special awards given out at 3 p.m., More than 22 sponsor trophies, 50/50 drawing.
