As the sound of fireworks fades away for another year Thursday night, those across the area are invited to spend the next night at a relaxing community fishing night at Melham Park in Broken Bow.
Those attending Friday evening are asked to look for the colorful Family Fishing Nebraska trailer. Inside are rods and reels to borrow, bait, and information including Nebraska Game and Parks fishing guides, fishing forecast pamphlets for Nebraska’s public fisheries, and other literature. Certified fishing instructors will also be on hand to help.
The free event from 6 PM to 8 PM, hosted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Fisheries Division, aims to continue to introduce more people to the sport of fishing. No experience is necessary to attend. All participants age 16 or older do need a valid fishing permit if they intend to fish.
