SARGENT – A rumbling from Sargent School Board meetings past has broken the surface.
Four of the board’s 6 members are facing a recall, as was threatened by the Sargent community in public meetings this winter.
Martin Riddle, Loyd Pointer, Tamora Moody and Laura Kipp have each seen a recall affidavit filed against them. The recall comes on the heels of the board’s unceremonious and opaque non-renewal of former principal Cory Grint.
No affidavits have been filed against two of Sargent’s other school board members. Rolland Stefka’s and Chandra Horkey’s positions will remain intact.
The four recalled board members were issued the affidavits last week, and will have 20 days to file a rebuttal with the Custer County Clerk’s office. That deadline is in mid-August.
