BROKEN BOW – The Custer County 4-H Public Speaking Contest was held on Monday, April 10 at the 4-H Building in Broken Bow.
4-Hers entered 11 pieces into the contest across 5 divisions. Top performers, those earning purple ribbons at the county’s speech contest in the Intermediate and Senior Speech and PSA divisions will go on to represent Custer County at the Premier Communications Event, formerly known as the State 4-H Public Speaking Contest, scheduled for June 23 in Lincoln.
Those earning purple ribbons and gold medals are as follows: in the Novice Speech division, Kateri McCaslin; in the Junior Speech division, Lucy Martin; in Intermediate Speech, Lillian Gregoski, and in PSAs, Maysa Jones was awarded a purple ribbon in the Intermediate division, and Alex Berghorst took first in the Senior Division.
