BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow Fire Department was paged to a structure fire at the Masonic Lodge at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Upon arrival, the department found the structure full of smoke, and the source of the fire was discovered to be above a light fixture in a storage room ceiling.
According to a release from the Broken Bow Fire Department, the 23 firefighters, 5 trucks, 1 ambulance and 2 EMTs were able to recover the historic records housed in the lodge and minimize damage. The department was on the scene for approximately 2 hours, and was assisted by the Broken Bow Police Department, Broken Bow Utilities, and the Custer County Sheriff’s Department.
