Felony Cases in the Custer County Court on Monday

CUSTER COUNTY – The Custer County Court held two hearings on Monday morning for felony cases.

Dustin Farritor, 50 of Broken Bow had a preliminary hearing on Monday. Farritor has four alleged counts, count I, flight to avoid arrest a Class IV felony which carries a maximum of two years imprisonment, plus 12 months post-release supervision or a $10,000 fine or both. Count II, willful reckless driving a class III misdemeanor that carries a maximum of three months imprisonment, a $500 fine, or both, count III, obstructing government operations, a class I misdemeanor which carries one-year imprisonment, a $1,000 fine or both, and lastly county IV, false reporting a count I misdemeanor which carries one-year imprisonment, or a $1,000 fine or both. The status hearing is set for March 18, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Custer County Courtroom.

Chase L Boutin, 46 of Hastings made his first appearance in Custer County Court with five alleged charges, count I possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, a class 1B felony, which carries a maximum of life imprisonment, count II, use of a weapon to commit a felony, a class 1C felony, which carries a maximum of 50 years imprisonment, count III terroristic threats which carries a maximum of three years imprisonment, and 18 months post-release supervision, or a $10,000 fine or both, count IV being a habitual criminal which carries a maximum of 60 years imprisonment and count V, third-degree assault, a class 1 misdemeanor which carries a maximum of on year imprisonment or a $1,000 fine or both. Boutin will have a preliminary hearing on February 26, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Custer County Courtroom.
