The end date for a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) is quickly approaching on March 31. Spearheaded by Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow and area community leaders, the community is being asked to help identify current healthcare delivery and unmet resident needs.
“It’s really really important that we hear from the community to be able to continue to go in the direction that the community feels that we need to go. There will be a town hall in May that will take all of this information and have folks come to that town hall to talk about priorities,” said Melham Medical Center CEO/President Kyle Kellum.

Assessments were last conducted in 2016, 2019, and 2022. This year’s assessment aims to understand progress made since those assessments while collecting up-to-date community perceptions and ideas.
Kellum said that relevant data to help make decisions will only strengthen meeting the needs of the community.
“(I feel) very strong about it. This isn’t just a person or a group of folk’s hospital, this is our community’s and all the community’s that we serve and even for those folks that pass through. Our job is to meet the needs of what people need, of what they want; and we’re going to do everything that we possibly can,” added Kellum.
A goal of 250 survey responses has been set. The town hall meeting Kellum mentioned will take place on May 15 from 5:30 until 7 PM.
