The Custer County Highway Department is asking citizens to obey an emergency road closure at the Sargent-Ord oil road.
The closure is due to moisture affecting a recent armor coat treatment applied recently. Cars driving on the road are causing the surface to come apart in chunks, damaging the road and also posing a risk of vehicle damage.
The department did not indicate an end point to the closure, but said that it will at least be through the evening Friday into Saturday morning before an assessment is made from there. Please obey any road closure signs or personnel on site indicating the closure.
