Eddyville Volunteer Fire Department hosting benefit for injured member

Long-time Eddyville fireman Rod Dethlefs was injured in a motorcycle accident over the summer, and the Eddyville Volunteer Fire Department is asking for help supporting his recovery.

The Department will be hosting a benefit for Dethlefs on Sunday, September 14. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served with a free will donation, and a raffle and live auction held starting at 5:00 PM at the Eddyville fire hall.

The raffle prize will be a Henry Golden Boy lever action .410. Raffle tickets can be purchased from Eddyville firemen and at Stryker Tractor Service. For live auction donations, contact Fire Chief Charles Stryker at 308-325-4609 or 308-858-4410, or Assistant Chief Fred Boon at 308-293-8523.

All proceeds from the raffle and auction will go directly to support Dethlefs’ recovery. Cash donations can be sent to the Eddyville Credit Union now through the benefit.

Those wishing to help the Eddyville Fire Department help one of their own are invited to attend the benefit for Rod Dethlefs at 5:00 PM Sunday, September 14 at the Eddyville Fire Hall.
