Dr. David Minnick starting new career chapter, clinic/hospital integration moving forward

BROKEN BOW, Neb.— Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center (JMMMMC) has extended their gratitude to Dr. Dave Minnick alongside an announcement that he will ’embark on a new chapter in his career’. Dr. Minnick joined Central Nebraska Medical Clinic (CNMC) in 1995 and served the surrounding area for three decades.

A press release from the hospital spoke to Dr. Minnick’s embodiment of what it means to be a small-town family physician: building relationships, delivering exceptional care, and ensuring generations of local families had access to the medical support they needed close to home.

“Dr. Minnick has been an integral part of healthcare in Broken Bow,” said Kyle Kellum, CEO of JMMMMC. “He represents everything that makes rural medicine special – deep connection, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to people. We are incredibly grateful for all he has done for this community and wish him the very best in his next adventure.”

While reflecting on his time in Broken Bow, Dr. Minnick shared, “This move is about family. I am incredibly grateful to CNMC, JMMMMC, my patients, the people of Broken Bow, and the surrounding communities I’ve had the privilege to serve over the years. It has truly been an honor to be part of this community, to provide care to so many wonderful people, and work alongside the great team of the clinic and hospital. Although I will not be here to witness the great things that come from the merger of CNMC and JMMMMC, I remain very excited for the future and in full support of this important step forward.”

While Dr. Minnick’s departure will be felt by many, the planned integration of CNMC and JMMMMC will move forward with a tentative completion date at the beginning of the new year.

The transition is expected to help in the growth of healthcare services for Broken Bow and the region on the foundation that leaders like Dr. Minnick helped establish.
