Schools across the KCNI/KBBN listening area will head to various sites across the state for district speech competition in the coming days. District meets got underway this past Saturday with class A assignments seeing action at Lincoln East and Lincoln Southeast High Schools.
As is the case with all activities and sports, the word ‘district’ brings about a sense of excitement, as it signals a close proximity to state competition for teams and individuals. Area speech competitors will be trying to punch their ticket to state in Kearney on the following dates and locations.

State speech is set for Wednesday through Friday March 26 to 28 at Kearney High School. Competition will begin with classes A and B on Wednesday. Classes C1 and C2 will compete on Thursday. Classes D1 and D2 will round out the 2025 season on Friday.
