BROKEN BOW – Debbie Fisher, cottage baker according to her business card, sliced ribbon with the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce on Thursday morning to formalize becoming a chamber member.

Fisher told KCNI/KBBN that a love for crafting and attending craft shows quickly morphed into a baking business.

“I like to bake, so I started adding a few baked items, and then I started getting so many orders and requests for that that it took over the crafting and I don’t have time to craft, now I bake!” said Fisher.

With a beautiful display of jellies, breads, rolls, and treats behind her, Fisher said the journey began about five years ago. When the business started to take off, her family encouraged her to pursue it. Fast forwarding to now, DebbieDee’s Bakery has been in the Broken Bow square for every market event this year.

During the non-market season, Fisher delivers once a week. Orders are accepted until noon on Mondays and deliveries happen on Thursdays. Those wishing to place an order can contact her through Facebook, call, or text.

Fisher also does specialty items, new recipe or family recipe, saying “If anyone calls, or if they have their grandma’s recipe, I will do any special orders as long as it’s something I’m comfortable doing.”

Visitors to the Sargent craft fair at the community building will find Debbie there on Saturday. She also said she plans on being in Taylor in December.
