Custer County 4-H held their public speaking contest this past Monday at the 4-H building in Broken Bow. Nine entries across five divisions were made.

Individuals that received top purple ribbons at the county contest in the Junior, Intermediate, and Senior speech and PSA divisions will represent Custer County at the Premier Communications Event, previously known as the State 4-H Public Speaking Contest. That competition is scheduled for June 18 in Lincoln.

Mahaya Jones and Lillian Gregoski served as emcees and timers for the contest, and Beth Rogers of Lexington was judge for the evening. A release from Nebraska Extension in Custer County stated that the evening provided great entertainment and a great crowd.
