The Custer County Treasurer’s Office is reminding taxpayers that the deadline for paying the second half of 2026 real estate and personal property taxes is this upcoming Monday (August 31).
Online payments can be made through the county’s Gworks site at https://custer.gworks.com/ using a name, parcel number or address. The Treasurer’s Office advises taxpayers to verify that payments are being applied to the correct parcel before submitting them.
Online payments are subject to a service fee charged by Nebraska.gov. The e-check option has a $3 fee, while card payments carry a 2.49% fee. Those paying taxes on multiple parcels can add all parcels to their cart before submitting payment to pay only one service fee.
The office also notes that two drop boxes are available. One is located outside the west side of the courthouse, is clearly marked and is accessible at any time. The other is inside the courthouse at the Treasurer’s Office main door and is available during business hours. Both are checked throughout the day during business hours and can be used to avoid waiting in line.
The Custer County Treasurer’s Office is located at 431 South 10th Avenue in Broken Bow and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
