Several organizations were on the receiving end of funds totaling $8,250 from the Custer County Salvation Army on Monday. Funds for the checks came from the Cliff Luther Endowment, bell ringing donations, and other contributions.

Checks for $500 were given to the communities of Broken Bow, Ansley, Arnold, and Callaway to be used for summer swimming lesson expenses.

The food pantries in Sargent, Arnold, and Ansley each received $750 checks.

The Prairie Pioneer Center in Broken Bow received a check for $4,000 to support their Meals for Recovering Seniors program, which provides meals to senior citizens who are recovering from stays in the hospital.
