BROKEN BOW, Neb. – The Custer County Foundation announced Monday morning that they have received a $10,000 donation from First Interstate Bank for the support of local fire departments.
The recent Custer County Complex fires brought immediate response and long hours from departments locally and across the state as first responders came together to battle a blaze that scorched thousands of acres over a weeks worth of time. First Interstate Bank’s donation is being made to help offset the hard costs that come from fighting fires of such magnitude, including wear and tear on vehicles and equipment.
Funds will be paid out to local departments after hours are confirmed with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency later this month.
“We truly are better when we work together, and First Interstate is proud to partner with the Custer County Foundation. We know this community is strong and will band together to recover,” said Brad Parliament, First Interstate Bank’s Market President.
