To kick start the event, a raffle is ongoing to help raise funds for the 19th annual gala that the Custer County Foundation is hosting in December.
Lindsay Cook, the executive director of the foundation told KCNI/KBBN what the raffle is for.
“The raffle is in conjunction with our fundraising event. This is the 19th year of our gala. And this is how we fund our grants program. So the money that we raise at the gala then goes back to the Custer County Community through our grants program. And part of that fundraiser is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a Polaris Ranger or you can select the travel option, which is a travel voucher worth $8,000 plus $1,000 spending in spending cash.”
Raffle tickets are $50 a person and are on sale now. Be quick with your purchase as only 350 are being sold and are going fast. Tickets for the dinner are also available for purchase and are $65. If interested in purchasing a ticket, you can get them at the foundation office or from any of the board members.
To view all of the items that are donated for the gala, you are invited to check out the Custer County Foundation Facebook page as they have new items rolling in daily.
Cook expressed gratitude to everyone who donates and to the board members.
“We’ve got a great board that does a lot of hard work to get the items that are donated for the gala. This helps us raise money, so I appreciate all the work that they do and all the businesses and individuals that donate auction items. It really takes a community to have a successful event. I believe last year we raised over $170,000 so we were pretty excited about that.”
The foundation office phone number is (308) 872-2232 or you can find them on Facebook or their website.
