CUSTER COUNTY, NE – The Custer County Foundation (CCF) grant application deadline is less than a month away, on October 31, 2024.
Any nonprofit organization that falls under the guidelines of the Foundation’s grant policy can apply for a grant from the Foundation. Funds are usually granted in civic, culture, health, education, environment, and social services.
32 grants were awarded to Custer County non-profit organizations by the Foundation last year. While grant applications are accepted throughout the year, they are considered at the end of two closing dates. Besides the approaching October 31, 2024 date, the next deadline is April 30, 2025.
CCF Executive Director Rilee Daffer and Board Member Alicia Hermsmeyer visited the Get Up & Go Breakfast Show this week and said that they are seeking complete, requirement-meeting applications.
“So it used to be, ‘We have the funds we want to be giving, and we are thankful for each and every grant that comes in’, and so we became pretty lenient because we want to be giving these funds out. But now that we are having 20 plus applications each grant cycle, we decided as a board, ‘We need to hold them to the same standards that we hold our student’s scholarship applications’. Make sure your I’s are dotted and your T’s are crossed. We try to lay the guidelines out to make it as easy as possible to fill them out, and like Rilee said try to have all of the documentation that you need, and if not, explain why,” explained Hermsmeyer.
Daffer said she is more than happy to help applicants with any questions they have or assistance they need with filling out applications, which can be found on the Custer County Foundation website at CusterCountyFoundation.org/grants. Applicants can also stop by the Foundation office at 403 South 9th Avenue in Broken Bow.
Applications can be dropped off at the Foundation office during regular office hours, which are Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 PM or sent via US Mail postmarked by October 31, 2024.
Contact the foundation by calling 308-872-2232 or emailing [email protected].
