With great success, the Custer County Foundation held its 21st Annual Gala & Auction on Saturday, December 13th, at the One Box Convention Center in Broken Bow. Preliminary numbers show over $160,000 was raised.
Four lucky winners came away with cash prizes in a card-drawing contests. Purses were donated by Slagle Angus ($250), Arrow Aviation, Inc. – Casey & Melissa Williams ($500), Performance Plus ($750), and Edward Jones, Gateway Motors, and Palmer Monument ($1,000).
Other highlights of the evening included the ever-popular “Heads or Tails” game. For $10 per bead necklace, guests had the opportunity to win $500 cash by simply choosing either “heads” or “tails” at the toss of a coin. Sharyn Cape beat out the competition and was the lucky winner of the $500.
The evening would not have been complete without the drawing for the choice of a Polaris Ranger Side by Side OR an $8,000 travel voucher with $1,000 cash. Pat Fagan won, choosing the Polaris in the drawing sponsored by Ag-Land ATV and Custer County Foundation Ag Boosters.
Outgoing board members Chris Smith and Jami Myers were honored and thanked for their dedication to the betterment of Custer County. They received a standing ovation for their years of service to the Custer County Foundation.
Serving the entirety of Custer County, every community in the county was represented by auction items donated and guests attending. Proceeds from the evening will be incorporated into the funds of the Foundation and returned to Custer County in the form of grants for charitable organizations and scholarships for non-traditional students.
