Custer County District Court Sentences One Man and Sets Trial Date for Another

BROKEN BOW – The Custer County District Court held continuances on nine cases, set a trial date on case and sentenced another who is already incarcerated in Lincoln.

Glen Jenkins, 56 of Ansley, pleaded no contest to charges of first-degree sexual assault, a Class II felony which holds a minimum of one year and a maximum of 20 years imprisonment. Jenkin must register on the sex offender registry and will have a trial on March 21, 2024.

James Thompson, 35 of Gothenburg pleaded guilty to Count I, burglary, and Count II, unlawful taking, both Class  IIA felonies which carry a maximum of 20 years imprisonment. Thompson will carry out 18-24 months incarceration on each count concurrently with credit for seven days served. Thompson is currently incarcerated in the Nebraska State Correction Center in Lincoln, NE.
